Young Filmmakers of the Future

This creative experience will be led by Young People from Mountrath Community School with professional mentorship to make their own Short Film, based on a theme/story of their own choosing. Young Filmmakers of the Future is about enabling the creative potential of young people and working with a professional filmmaker, creative writing facilitator and technical team.

In collaboration with the school’s Film Club, young people will learn about story-boarding, script writing/editing/workshopping, to filming on set / on location and post-production editing. They will also find out how to market and promote their short film.

Opportunities will exist within this project for young people to liaise and collaborate with Laois Heritage on the generation of ideas; Laois Tourism on the identification of unique filming locations, and Laois School of Music as an ideal resource for soundtrack recordings.  

The short film will be premiered at Dunamaise Arts Centre.
