Whisper and Beyond
An Exhibition by Sinead Dinneen
A series of work relating to personal perceptions and experience of living with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer is presented. A series of related public events, co‑ordinated by artist Pat Wallis, will be hosted for people dealing with death directly and indirectly, with healthcare staff and artists, concerning the lived experience of terminal illness and grief. The positive effects of arts and health engagement aims to deepen our knowledge and sensitivity to the needs of people experiencing terminal illness.
Official Opening Reception
on Thursday 21 February at 7pm
Complimentary refreshments will be served on the evening.
Associated workshops will be run throughout the course of the exhibition with clients of The Cuisle Centre (Cancer support centre, Portlaoise) by the 'Kicking the Bucket' team; Sinead Dinneen, Katie Verling & Pat Wallis. These workshops will use the arts to share stories and experiences of illness in a compassionate and understanding way, to help support a stronger sense of control, identity and change.ÂÂÂ
