Fitz & the 1st East-to-West Atlantic Flight

Colonel James Fitzmaurice flew into aviation history by co-piloting the first aeroplane to successfully cross the Atlantic in a westerly direction.
The story of Fitz, from his formative years in Laois to his fearless flight, is told through this fascinating exhibition of original artefacts, infographics and short films.

This exhibition brings together eight artists from Laois and across Ireland, whose work focuses on the surreal and the fantastical, dreams and the subconscious, the gothic and the macabre.

The Wolfhill Coalmine Project
A collaborative mixed-media exhibition preserving the memories and stories of Wolfhill miners and their way of life.
With contributions fromÂÂÂÂÂ David Delaney, Ciara Drennan, Pauline Mc Evoy, Stephen Murphy, Jayne Louise KellyÂÂÂÂÂ andÂÂÂÂÂ Joseph Kavanagh. Through writing, photography, digital media and art, the team's interpretations and creative responses to their 12 month residency are presented alongside newspaper & photographic archives, social & community history, artefacts and recorded interviews with former miners, their families and descendants.
