A Celebration of European Literature
A Celebration of European Literature with Helen Cullen, Nina George and Hugo Hamilton.
With music from Tríona Marshall.
In honour of Ireland holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, we present a very special evening in celebration of European Literature. Laois author, Helen Cullen, will be in conversation with German author Nina George and the German-Irish author, Hugo Hamilton. Nina George is not only the international bestselling author of The Little Paris Bookshop but is also President of Honour of the European Writers’ Council. Hugo Hamilton is an acclaimed novelist and memoirist known for exploring themes of cultural identity, language, and belonging. Helen will draw upon her interviewing skills from her work as a journalist and literary critic to lead what will be a lively discussion about their writing lives, the connections between Irish and German literature, and also what it means to be a European writer today. The evening will also offer music from renowned Laois harpist Tríona Marshall
