Isle of Songs, Presented by Music Generation Laois, in partnership with The Nerve Centre, Derry
Isle of Song is a song-writing project for children and young people aged between 10 - 18 from Laois, Offaly and Northern Ireland.
Isle of Song brings together 50 young musicians from all over Ireland, North and South, to create, collaborate, and develop original music. This showcase concert in Dunamaise Arts Centre will feature original songs created by Isle of Song participants, from April – September 2025.
Young musicians and singers, and a team of mentors from Music Generation Laois and The Nerve Centre, and Isle of Song Songwriter in residence, Ríoghnach Connolly (BBC Best Folk Singer, RTÉ Best Folk Singer 2025) will perform over 15 original songs at this showcase event.
Isle of Song is part of the Creative Youth on a Shared Island programme, supported by Creative Ireland and the Government of Ireland, and is led by Music Generation Laois in partnership with The Nerve Centre, Derry.
Music Generation Laois is part of Music Generation, Ireland’s national music education programme, co-funded by U2, the Ireland Funds and the Department of Education. Locally Music Generation Laois is part of Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board and supported by Laois County Council.
