Portlaoise Musical Society presents: Young Frankenstein

It’s alive!

For our 27th annual production, Portlaoise Musical Society is thrilled to bring the monstrously funny Young Frankenstein to the stage!

From the brilliantly twisted mind of Mel Brooks comes Young Frankenstein, the hilarious musical stage adaptation of his legendary comedy film.

Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, a respectable American scientist, is determined to distance himself from the infamous legacy of his grandfather, Victor Frankenstein. But when he inherits the family castle in Transylvania, Frederick soon finds himself drawn into the very experiments he swore he would never continue.

With the help of a wonderfully eccentric collection of characters, including the hunchbacked Igor, spirited lab assistant Inga, mysterious housekeeper Frau Blücherand, of course, one unforgettable Monster - Frederick succeeds in bringing the dead back to life… and unleashes absolute chaos!

Packed with outrageous comedy, clever wordplay, spectacular musical numbers and plenty of nods to classic horror, Young Frankenstein is a monstrously funny night at the theatre and a show you won't want to miss.
