One bride. Two suitors.

Following sold-out performances, Irish National Opera brings its acclaimed production of The Bartered Bride on tour across Ireland.

Set in a lively Czech village, this fast-paced comic opera follows two young lovers determined to marry for love. To succeed, they must outwit a scheming matchmaker, avoid an arranged marriage, and navigate the chaos of a travelling circus.

Featuring soprano Amy Ní Fhearraigh and tenor Egor Zhuravskii, Smetana’s vibrant score is full of lively folk rhythms, memorable melodies, and energetic dances. Conducted by Richard Peirson, this fresh production offers a dynamic new take on a classic.

Sung in English with subtitles.
