The Shaking Bog
The Council of All Beings Workshop & Riverine Screening
A workshop and film screening inviting participants to inhabit the worldview of species living in local riparian habitats, connecting us on a deeper level to our wider ecological selves.
Becoming Riverine.... Do you ever wonder what it’s like to be a salmon returning from the ocean to make that long trip up the river to finally spawn? Or a bat, swooping low over the water to catch dinner in the fading dusk light?Wearing masks and symbols, we will host a Council of All Beings, an interactive, guided practice to allow nature to speak through us.Facilitated by ecologist Dr. Laura Kehoe, this technique offers an opportunity to abandon the exclusively human condition: to feel the world from other eyes, other wings, other roots, other skins.
We will then enjoy the captivating film ‘Riverine’ by acclaimed filmmaker Alan Gilsenan, celebrating the diverse communities of the Dargle River Basin - including a specially commissioned meditation on rivers by the acclaimed writer Kerri ní Dochartaigh.
To attend the film screening only, please see separate listing.
Join us for a unique evening of becoming Riverine.
