Road to Forest Fest: Battle of the Bands is a one-night live showcase at Dunamaise Arts Centre, bringing together some of the most exciting emerging Irish acts for an unforgettable night of music.
Each band will take to a fully produced stage, performing in front of a live audience and industry judges in a professional setting designed to celebrate authentic, live music.
This is more than a competition, it’s a platform.
A chance to connect, perform, and be part of something bigger.
The winning act will secure a coveted performance slot at Forest Fest 2026 (24–26 July).

The Road to Forest Fest - Battle of the Bands – Terms and Conditions
1. Eligibility
1.1 Entry is open to bands and musical artists based in Ireland.
1.2 All participants must be aged 18 years or over at the time of application.
1.3 Applicants must perform primarily original material. A limited number of cover songs may be included at the discretion of the act.
2. Application Process
2.1 All applications must be submitted via the official entry form provided by the organisers.
2.2 Applications must include:
• A current artist or band biography
• Audio and/or video performance samples
• Relevant social media or online links
2.3 The closing date for applications is 31st May. Late submissions may not be considered.
2.4 The selection and shortlisting of participants shall be at the sole discretion of the organisers, and no correspondence will be entered into.
2.5 The application process will be administered by Dunamaise Art Centre (DAC).
3. Event Format
3.1 Shortlisted acts will be invited to perform live at the event on 7th June 2026 at DAC.
3.2 Each act will be allocated a performance slot of 2–3 songs.
3.3 A professional stage, sound system, and basic technical production will be provided.
3.4 The running order, stage times, and all production decisions remain at the sole discretion of the organisers and DAC
3.5 Dunamaise Arts Centre will provide a shared backline and drum kit, in order to minimise changeover time between performances. Participating acts may be required to use elements of the provided backline.
4. Judging and Selection
4.1 Performances will be evaluated based on criteria including:
• Musicianship
• Originality
• Stage presence
• Audience engagement
4.2 The decision of the judging panel is final and binding in all respects.
5. Prize
5.1 The winning act will be awarded a performance slot at Forest Fest 2026 (24–26 July) (20–30-minute set). Day to be confirmed.
5.2 The prize is non-transferable and no cash or alternative prize will be offered.
5.3 Participation in the festival will be subject to standard festival terms and conditions.
5.4 A weekend ticket pass will be provided for all band members only.
6. Artist Obligations
6.1 All participants must be available for the event date and, if selected, for Forest Fest 2026.
6.2 Participants agree to reasonably support promotion of the event via their own channels.
6.3 All submitted information must be accurate and not misleading.
7. Media and Intellectual Property
7.1 By participating, entrants consent to being filmed, recorded, and photographed.
7.2 Participants grant the Forest Fest and Dunamaise Art Centre a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use such content for promotional, marketing, and archival purposes across all media
7.3 No additional compensation shall be payable for such use.
8. Liability and Insurance
8.1 Participants are responsible for their own instruments, equipment, and personal property at all times.
8.2 The organisers accept no liability for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings.
8.3 Participants are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate insurance cover, including public liability insurance where applicable.
8.4 The organisers shall not be liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage sustained by participants, except where caused by proven negligence.
9. Cancellation and Amendments
9.1 The organisers reserve the right to amend, postpone, or cancel the event at their sole discretion.
9.2 The organisers shall not be liable for any costs or expenses incurred by participants as a result of such changes.
10. Code of Conduct
10.1 All participants must behave in a professional and respectful manner.
10.2 The organisers reserve the right to disqualify any act engaging in inappropriate, unsafe, or disruptive behaviour.
11. General
11.1 All decisions made by the organisers are final.
11.2 Submission of an application constitutes full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions
