OPEN CALL

8 July - 7 August

Untitled design 56

Dunamaise Arts Centre is pleased to announce an open call for artists across Ireland working across all mediums, for an upcoming group exhibition 'apple spider fork'. The exhibition will take place at Dunamaise Arts Centre from September 4th 2026 until 30th September 2026 and will be curated by Johnny McMahon @johnnymcmahonart as part of LASTA Festival @lastafestival, a youth-led national arts festival with programmes created by young curators.'apple spider fork' explores the shifting landscape of images, symbols, and visual language in contemporary culture.

We live in a moment shaped by the constant circulation of pictures, fragments, and signs, where images move rapidly between contexts, accumulating new meanings as they are repeated, shared, distorted, and reinterpreted. This open call invites artists to reflect on how we interpret and communicate through images. How do symbols gather meaning as they circulate? What happens when images lose their original context or become endlessly reproduced? How do we navigate a culture of visual abundance where interpretation remains open and unstable? The title itself suggests an associative and playful logic where unrelated fragments sit side by side, inviting curiosity and unexpected connections.

In this spirit, the exhibition welcomes work that approaches these ideas with experimentation, humour, and openness.Deadline for Applications: Friday, 7th August 2026 at 5pm

Visual Artists working across all mediums are now invited to submit work through the Google Form linked in the bio."
